Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the driving force behind Lancashire’s thriving economy, providing innovation, employment, and growth across the region.
As the backbone of the local business community, these enterprises will take centre stage at this year’s BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards), where the achievements of the county’s most outstanding SMEs will be celebrated.
The BIBAs recognise and reward the dedication, resilience, and creativity of the region’s small and medium-sized businesses.
The awards for Small Business of the Year – sponsored by CKS Catering – and Medium Business of the Year – sponsored by MHA Accountants – are two of the most anticipated categories, reflecting the vital role these companies play in the economic landscape.
The Small and Medium Business of the Year awards at the BIBAs are designed to honour those enterprises that have demonstrated excellence in areas such as innovation, customer service, financial performance, and community engagement.
These awards not only highlight the success of individual businesses but also underscore the collective strength of Lancashire’s SME sector.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of Lancashire’s economy,” said Dawn Cheetham, director of CKS, “they are the innovators, job creators, and community builders that contribute significantly to the region’s prosperity.
“The BIBAs provide a platform to celebrate their successes and shine a spotlight on the businesses that are making a real difference in our county.”
With over 96% of Lancashire’s businesses classified as SMEs, their impact on the local economy is undeniable. These enterprises are responsible for a substantial portion of employment in the region and are key contributors to the diversity and vibrancy of Lancashire’s business community.
“The resilience and adaptability of SMEs have been particularly evident in recent years,” Danny Houghton, partner at MHA, said “Despite the challenges of the pandemic and economic uncertainty, these businesses have continued to innovate, grow, and support their local communities. The BIBAs recognise these efforts and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that is so prevalent in Lancashire.”
